Healthy goats and lambs
Animals are chosen healthy, old enough, and free of the defects that disqualify an aqiqah animal.
Animals that fail inspection do not get used, and we tell you when one has to be replaced.

Islamic basis
The hadiths we work from
Quoted directly from the hadith collections with their numbers, so you can check them yourself.
Every child is pledged by their aqiqah
كُلُّ غُلَامٍ رَهِينَةٌ بِعَقِيقَتِهِ تُذْبَحُ عَنْهُ يَوْمَ سَابِعِهِ وَيُحْلَقُ وَيُسَمَّى
Every child is pledged by their aqiqah, which is slaughtered for them on the seventh day, when their head is shaved and they are given a name.
Narrated by Abu Dawud no. 2838, At-Tirmidhi no. 1522, An-Nasa’i no. 4220, Ibn Majah no. 3165
How many animals for a boy and for a girl
عَنِ الْغُلَامِ شَاتَانِ مُكَافِئَتَانِ وَعَنِ الْجَارِيَةِ شَاةٌ
For a boy, two comparable sheep; for a girl, one sheep.
Narrated by At-Tirmidhi no. 1513, Ahmad no. 25764
The basics, before you order
- When it should be done
- The sunnah is the seventh day after birth. If that passes, many scholars allow the fourteenth day, the twenty first, or whenever the parents are able.
- How many animals
- Two for a boy and one for a girl. If two are beyond your means, some scholars hold that one for a boy is still valid.
- Male or female
- Both are valid. Some scholars prefer a male, which is why we price the male and female packages separately.
- What to do with the meat
- It is recommended to cook it first, then share it with family, neighbours, and the poor. That is why our packages arrive as ready to eat meal boxes.
The notes above summarise the commonly held positions. For anything specific to your situation, please ask a scholar or a fatwa body you trust.

Questions and answers
What parents ask us most
Not finding your answer here? Send the question over and we will answer it for your situation.
Send us your questionWhy does a male goat cost more than a female?
Male goats weigh more and cost more at market. Both are equally valid for aqiqah, so choose whichever fits your budget. The difference is there in the price list.
What do I get besides the meal boxes?
An aqiqah certificate, a name card for your child in every box, photos and video of the slaughter on WhatsApp, and free delivery within our service area. None of it is billed separately.
What if I need a quantity that is not on the list?
The price list runs from 20 to 120 boxes. For anything in between or above that, send us the number on WhatsApp and we will price it.
How far ahead should I order?
The earlier the safer, especially if the event falls on a weekend. Send us the date you want and we will check whether it is free.
Can the family watch the slaughter?
Yes. Tell us early so we can schedule the slaughter around when you can come. If you cannot make it, we still send the photos and video.
Can the boxes go to more than one address?
Yes, for example some to your home and some to an orphanage or a prayer hall. Tell us how to split the quantity when you order.
Can I change how the meat and bone are cooked?
Yes. The meat can be satay or teriyaki, and the bone and offal can be curry, clear soup, or tengkleng. On packages of 40 boxes and up, satay can also be swapped for spiced potatoes.
My child is older now. Can we still do the aqiqah?
Yes. Some scholars allow the aqiqah to be performed after the seventh day has passed, even into adulthood, as long as it has never been done.
